The 21st Holker Garden Festival
We are delighted to say that over 20,000 visitors flocked through the gates to this year’s Festival, which saw blue sky and glorious sunshine across all three days.
A spectacular show all round, highlights included a record number of Gold awards in the Horticultural Marquee, six sensational show gardens, the hugely popular display by Old Hall Farm complete with 18hh Shire Horses, foodie heaven in the Cartmel Pop-Up Village, thrilling demonstrations from world renowned food historian Ivan Day and an abundance of botanical brilliance.
The 22nd Holker Garden Festival in Cark-in-Cartmel, south Cumbria, will be a three day summer spectacle taking place from Friday 30th May to Sunday 1st June 2014, showcasing only the very best of gardening, countryside, food and crafts.
Hosted by Lord and Lady Cavendish and set in the beautiful Holker Parkland, the Holker Garden Festival combines gardening and horticulture with traditional, family fun to create an exciting, summer day out for visitors of all ages.
The Festival showcases some of the very best of gardening and horticulture with spectacular show gardens, a fragrance filled Horticultural Marquee, where you can spot unusual and rare plants and admire beautiful floral art exhibits and plenty of opportunity to gather ideas, talk to the experts and purchase plants for your own garden.
Fun packed activities for all the family take place across the three days with craft activities in the Holker Tipi Village and special shows, demonstrations, activities and rides down on the showground.
A mouth watering selection of artisan food, drink and North West produce to tempt those taste buds. From delightful afternoon teas to mouth-watering gourmet sandwiches or even just a refreshing glass of Pimms, whatever you fancy, you’ll be sure to find a satisfying bite to eat!
With the Holker Craft Hall and numerous local businesses demonstrating traditional skills such as dry stone walling and wicker craft, there is always a variety of handmade gifts and wares available, all ready to inspire the creative in you.
